What is Feng Shui?
Literally translated Feng means "Wind" 風 and Shui means "Water" 水. Wind discribes the cosmic Qi and symbolises the the direction it comes from; Water describes the Qi of the earth and symbolises the living energy "Qi". For our consultations we use Xuan Kong Fei Xing which is the authentic Chinese Time-Space Feng Shui method, also known as Flying Stars. We advise our clients to have a yearly update as the energies change every year (around February 4th).
The Cosmic Trinity
Tian 天, HEAVEN = heavenly luck is the part of our lives we have no direct influence in. It is determined by divine providence, karma or our genes.
Di 地, EARTH = earthly luck is the part of our lives we can enhance by means of Feng Shui. It describes the current situation, surroundings, everyday life, society at large.
Ren 人, MAN = human luck is what we make of our lives. It describes the dimension of our own personal influence on our life. It is a question of: what can each individual achieve when making good use of the heavenly and earthly luck?
Qi 氣 Energy
For good Feng Shui "Qi" must flow easily. Stagnation has a negative influence. By means of Feng Shui we can achieve a free flow of Qi in every part of the building. If the living energy "Sheng Qi" reaches every part of the building you gain health, weath and well-being.
It is easy: no Qi, no life. It is the environment of Sha Qi. You can find it near cemetaries, hospitals, garbage dumps, butcheries, slaugtherhouses and churches. Other sources of Sha Qi are sharp corners of a building, pitched roofs, power poles or a street leading straight towards a building.
Yin 陰 & Yang 陽
It symbolises the natural extremes such as day and night, cold and warm. YIN represents the feminine, the earth, the flow, the darkness, the coldness, etc. YANG is the masculine, heaven, static, light, warmth, etc. Feng Shui aims to achieve balance by enhancing areas of positive Qi and curing areas of negative Qi.
The Five Elements
The five elements Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood are seen as dynamic changes. It involves the refinement of the Yin- and Yang theory. While Yin and Yang have two opposite but still complementary characteristics, the five elements have specific Qi energies.
The five elements are based on a year divided into five phases. In the medical sense, the five elements refer to specific organs and emotions. The five elements also describe directions (compass reading), colours, forms and the time of day.
